Leaked documents from Khorasan Powder Metallurgy Company (KPMC) exposes the extant of Chinese involvement in Iranian ballistic missile program.
The leaked materials we have obtained demonstrate that China, once again, is the primary enabler in MODAFL’s armament’s efforts. Most notably, KPMC purchases lab equipment from Chinese companies that is crucial for the aluminum powder production line. As explained in previous articles, aluminum powder is a dual-use substance, that serves as a key ingredient in solid rocket fuel production.
Presented below is a letter by KPMC’s CEO, Mohammad Hussein Zabol Abbasi, addressed to the Head of Energy and Materials Affairs at the Center for Cooperation on Change and Progress, in the Office of the Presidency. Zabol Abbasi claims that a specific cooling pump, acquired from China, is among the equipment items that constitute a critical bottleneck. He writes that it is urgently required in order to maintain the operation of the aluminum powder’s production line at the company, and because the product is not manufactured domestically, KPMC depends of importing it from China:

The leak contains documents and correspondence linking KPMC to the following Chinese companies and suppliers:

In addition to the document that was issued by MODAFL’s Supply Division for a debt‑settlement, we have uncovered various Chinese documents, some of which refer to legal affairs between KPMC and its Chinese counterparts:

KPMC’s dependence on Chinese suppliers is yet another example for the pivotal role China is playing in every aspect of the Iranian armament efforts. Iran’s security apparatus holds billions of dollars in foreign currency accounts around the world – money that it squanders on building weapons and funding the brutal oppression of its own people, rather than investing it back in them.
